The new southern home 2013 from Flooring Master in Orlando FL area

Flooring Master has been selected as the flooring provider and installer of the prestigious New Southern Home, the centerpiece of the 2013 Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida July 11-13. The home is located just south of Orlando in the City of Belle Isle, less than a twenty minute drive from the Convention Center.

This beautiful custom home will showcase the latest innovations in design, luxury and technology while utilizing cutting-edge green building products and practices to maximize indoor air quality, water conservation, energy efficiency and sustainability. All with a price tag of under $700,000.

“It is a real honor to have chosen Flooring Master as the flooring provider of the 2013 New Southern Home,” said President of NWC Construction Inc. “We are putting some exciting new twists on this custom showpiece. Although it will obviously include all the bells and whistles and high-end finishes of most show homes, NWC will build it green and make it accessible, affordable and easy to maintain.”

The Florida Vernacular style design, being drafted by the expert team at Kessee and Associates, Inc, is now in its final stages. With 3,200 sq.ft. under air and 4,000 sq.ft. under roof, the 4-bed, 3.5-bath pool home will feature a universal floor plan with a master bedroom and bath both upstairs and down. This innovative design blends aesthetics, comfort, and functionality to better serve the diverse needs and dynamics of the modern family.

Located in an infill area, Cross plans to maximize the lake view across the street, cut down on traffic noise and create a private back yard right in the middle of town. The builder also aims to obtain a number of green certifications, including Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), National Green Building Standard, USGBC LEED for Homes and Energy Star. Green certification will be performed by Drew Smith of Two Trails Green Consulting.

The New Southern Home program is backed by the Florida Home Builders Association and is considered the premiere show home in the Southeast, a tradition that began in 1988. The program is designed to celebrate the latest products and practices, creative architecture and interior design, while encouraging industry suppliers and community members to join forces in support of the project. The home will be on display to thousands of building professionals and industry leaders attending the 2013 SEBC Convention. Multiple media and networking events will be hosted onsite and it will also be open for public tours.

The showpiece will be on display during SEBC July 11-13. For information on becoming a New Southern Home partner, contact Nathan Cross at407-832-0827or email nathan@nwcconstructionfl.com.
